OCCASION WINES ADELAIDE HILLS CBD

The Lane Vineyard Occasion wines were first created in 1996. From the highest quality parcels of fruit within our vineyard these wines are determined by their vine age, purity, depth and spectrum of flavours. Low yields provide fruit concentration and structure. Each variety is hand picked, handled gently in the winery and aged in the finest quality French Oak.

Occasion wines, they are complex, structured and fine.

Reunion Shiraz

Reunion Shiraz

Location Icon35°00' 36.25"S 138°50' 4.56"E

The first Shiraz planted at The Lane, due to its East facing aspect this is our most protected Shiraz block and is the last picked each year. The fruit always provides complex blackcurrant overlain with spice characters. A small parcel of post ferment skin contact provides a core to the wine that means it doesn’t have to spend more than 18 months in large French oak. This is the wine that we get out of bed for.

19th Meeting Cabernet Sauvignon

Location Icon35°00'42.3"S 138°50'11.7"E

Amongst the oldest Cabernet plantings in the Hills, ‘19th’ enjoys a warm Northerly aspect and long North/South rows to maximise sunlight exposure and airflow through the canopy, ensuring even and complete ripeness. A small parcel of post ferment skin contact fills the middle palate and completes the structure that maturation in French oak barrique provides.

Beginning Chardonnay

Beginning Chardonnay

Location Icon35°00'37.94" S 138°50'8.46"E

Closely planted (4166 vines/ha) to highly desirable Dijon clones which show a wider array of flavours at lower alcohol. The handpicked fruit is fermented in new and seasoned French oak and left to do its own thing. This is the delicious style of Chardonnay that we love to drink. Refined, racy and delicately textured with The Lane DNA minerality.

Gathering Sauvignon Semillon

Location Icon35°00' 40.44"S 138°50' 9.38"E

Arguably the wine that defines The Lane. 72% Sauvignon Blanc and 28% Semillon with parcels of each fermented in French oak. A rich, complex wine that always has layers of flavour coupled with mouthwatering acidity. Incredibly serious food wine, whilst vibrant enough to serve chilled as an aperitif. Its Sauvignon Blanc, but not as you know it. Gathering will age effortlessly for 10 years if you keep it out of reach.
